A search warrant was obtained by Middletown Police for a house located on Hill Avenue. Police in Cincinnati were reportedly notified of drug use and trafficking at the residence by our news partners at WCPO.
There was also a homeless camp in the backyard of the house.
According to the group, after police determined that the house would have to be condemned, they contacted Middletown Animal Control, who in turn contacted the Animal Friends Humane Society for assistance in obtaining the animals.
The humane organization posted on social media, "Ducks are going to rescue and all other animals are being sorted for us [to] decide who would do best in adoption, foster homes, or rescue." "At this time, NONE of these pets are up for adoption. They ought to have some time to themselves and to learn how to live without dirt.

Three of the five individuals detained on the premises were solely charged with drug-related offenses. Animal cruelty charges were brought against two more people, Kenneth Currey and Morgan R. Marshall, according to documents from Middletown Municipal Court.
